California UPK TK
In 2025-26, children who turn four years old by September 1st are eligible for the first launch of a Transitional Kindergarten program. California is expanding TK to provide more families with access to a variety of preschool programs. This new Transitional Kindergarten timetable is the first year of a two-year experience, with children transitioning to kindergarten the following year. TK provides additional learning opportunities helping children develop skills they need to thrive in education, families, and life. Transitional Kindergarten curriculums are designed to be age appropriate and developmentally relevant.
Universal PreK
Transitional Kindergarten focuses on language development, social-emotional growth, along with foundational academic skills. This preschool experience utilizes play as a key learning strategy, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. TK helps children develop a strong foundation in math and literacy, preparing them for success in school, home, and beyond. TK fosters social skills, helping children navigate relationships in classroom settings. Transitional Kindergarten provides early learning, which has been shown to have long-term benefits for children's development.
The Benefits of Early Learning Give Kids A Cutting Edge Advantage
Better Education For A Better, Brighter Future
The younger a child is, the more effortless it is to learn. We presently use very little of the human potential. This unrealized possibility challenges us to create environments for our children to develop and learn to do things when it is easy to learn—when the brain is growing at its fastest rate. Our goal for every student is to have the opportunity to be intellectually, physically, and socially excellent—so they are able to follow their own path to achieve their goals.
Awareness For All
Early childhood education significantly impacts a child's development and future success, with studies showing high-quality programs lead to improved academic performance, social and emotional development, and reduced likelihood of grade repetition. Investing in early learning can also yield a substantial return, with some estimates suggesting a rate of return of over 12% for society

"The most important work we do is in the first few years of a child's life. We are not just preparing them for school, we are preparing them for life. We are laying the foundation for their character, their creativity, and their capacity for compassion. It is a time of profound and permanent influence."
