Ms. Evan enriches children's lives with real world experiences, models community values, and guides youngsters to think independently. I think of myself as a TK teammate, a kindred kindergartener, a citizen coach, a learning leader, a nature nurturer, a spirit-sourced scholar, and a god-sent guide. I have taught very young children for over 40 years. I am a dual degreed teacher with a Bachelor's in elementary education. Plus I also specialized to obtain a Bachelor's in early childhood education. For my Master's work I studied educational computing and technology. I have decades of other trainings beyond teaching in social emotional relationships, communication, leadership, and self expression/public speaking. I've also taken many business development courses with understanding for corprorate parents as I worked for an adult education and management consulting firm for a decade prior to raising my daughter.
Most recently, I took a weeklong intensive at a prestigious institute of learning on how the brain develops, how to increase intellectual, physical and social abilities, essential information to create an enriched learning environment, and how to play in an educational way. I built on my know-how as a teacher and brought that to my parenting. I homeschooled my girl from birth until 2nd grade. She read a 4 years old and was multiplying numbers at 6 all through play. She is currently a 4.0 GPA GATE student at our local neighbor middle school. What gives this program its distinction is drawing on a variety of experiences spanning the infant room to middle schools, substitute versus lead teaching, inside of both public and private educational sectors, knowledge of the service industry compared to the corporate arena, along with parent education, cooperative participation preschools, homeschool communities, as well as local volunteering.
